Hello!
Before I introduce the BOTW, I want to plug my new project, the Early Bird Forecast newsletter. As spring arrives, many new species will start to show up. This new newsletter sends location-specific predictions for next week’s likely arrivals. You can sign up by clicking this link.
This week's bird is the: Oak Titmouse
1) This is a backyard bird, but only in California. Sorry to basically all the non-California native subscribers.
2) This bird loves the magical oak woodlands of Cali, and was once described as "the voice and soul of the oaks." How moving.
3) In much of its range, the Oak Titmouse is preyed upon by the Stellar's Jay, which eats the eggs and nestlings of this bird.
4) Sightings of these birds outside of California and Oregon are extremely rare. Usually, some individuals from a given species wander far and wide, but not this bird!
5) Come visit California! You can see this bird and lots of others that are found nowhere else on earth. It's truly an amazing place.

Have a great week!
I love Titmice….
